Okay
Dylan fanatics (or at least those not adverse to Dylan fanaticism), here's a fourth collection of early but still UNOFFICIAL recordings called Find out Why from label Hollow Horn's seven-volume Performing Artist bootleg series. (More HERE).
The Bob Dylan of 1963 was already being accused of being not only a liar and a plagiarizer but also the single most powerful song-writers of his generation. Even cast-off's here like "Dusty Old Fairgrounds" and the almost-abandoned "Tomorrow is a Long Time" attest to the truth of that final accusation. As for the other two charges, well debate on those rages still.
Welcome back Dylan followers, fans, fanatics:

ReplyDeleteAwesome posts, thank you!
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I saw a promo for an Oprah show in which she said, "On my next show, the poet of our times..." My immediate thought was "OH MY GOD! DYLAN IS GONNA BE ON OPRAH!" My bubble was quickly burst when the next words out of her mouth were, "Neil Diamond!" Now, nothing against Neil, but maybe Oprah needed to hear some of these recordings before making such a bold statement.
ReplyDeleteExcellent. So good to be able to get hold of and hear this stuff. many thanks. Paul
