Boots for Dancing 12" E.P. (1980)

Y'know Jo Callis (Rezillos / Shake / Human League / Swalk/ Feargal Sharkey) has at least one more band and one more style on his resume. The band in question is Scottish post-punk-funksters, Boots for Dancing and while Callis isn't on this high tension EP from 1980, he and some other ex-Rezillos will soon be walking into the picture:

So what do you make of Boots for Dancing's take on post-punk? Leave us a comment.

Speaking of comments that's where the link for the Boots for Dancing EP can be found.

Lords of the New Church: Paralyzed (Plus video of a 1983 concert!!)

In one of those towering, epic posts I seem driven to write I asked, "What hath the Lords of the New Church wrought?" (Take it all in HERE). Ever since, I've been waiting to find an excuse to share this live show from the early 1980's and this post over on MetaFilter was the final push.
(MRML's mess of Lords posts can be found HERE.)

This 36 minute Lords of the New Church concert recorded for Spanish TV was liberated from the studio and then uploaded to YouTube (I believe...) by the user known as kigonjiro. Bless all involved

To watch the whole show in order go HERE

Let us know your take on The Lords!

The Rezillos: Complete Radio Sessions (1977-2009)

Oh yes The Rezillos (way more HERE) live, as these more recent sessions, attached to the much older ones, ably prove. Speaking of the latest incarnation of the band, here's the video for their 2009 single, "No. 1 Boy"

Despite its spiffy design and good sound quality this a bootleg but a damn impressive one!

Speaking of those oh-so-encouraging comments, that is the place wherein you will find the Radio Sessions link.

V.A. Teenage Treats Vol. Seven (1977-1982)

(Alas, Roberto's supply of killer cover scans is done - and the images have grown dire - so if anyone has ANY kind of scans for T.T. V.'s 7-9* let me know!!)

* I've got a decent front for #10 now!

Here's a new series (well, the late 1990's, really and even then...), consisting of ten volumes that explore the seedy underbelly of the already seedy underbelly that was British punk rock in the late seventies and early eighties.

Highlights of this more eclectic volume - this punk is often hyphenated by the words mod, pop and post - may (or may not - taste in seedy underbellies varies widely) might include Autograph, Trainspotters and Iceland's Fraebbblarnir:

* Rejected (Daleks, 1980, from only 7")
* Rock Stars (Numbers, 1979, from only 7")
* False Death (Fraebbblarnir, Iceland, 1979, from 2.7")
* Art Nouveau (Bodies, 1979, from only 7")
* 50% Reduction (News, 1980, from only 7")
* Snake's Song (Shish, 1980, from only 7")
* Respectable Men (Dave Bishop, 1978, from only 7")
* Insanity (Buzz, 1979, from only 7")
* Hiring The Hall (Trainspotters, 1979, from 2.7")
* Merched Dan 15 (Y Trwynau Coch, 1978, from 1.7")
* On The Beach (Da Biz, 1980, from only 7")
* While I'm Still Young (Autographs, 1978, from only 7")

Comments are what keep the rarities flowing...

Please don't neglect to communicate!!

Speaking of those rarity-fueling comments, that is the section where you will find the Teenage Treats # 7 link.
