Power-Popscurites: The Cavedogs: Six Tender Moments (1991)

In between their debut and their swansong, The Cavedogs (more here) released a six-song e.p., the led-off with their greatest song, "Tayter Country" and added a couple of originals plus covers of Bacarach and David's "What's New Pussycat" and the Kinks "I Need You."

The band re-united in 2002 (supposedly at the behest of former class-mate/collaborator David Cross) but there' s not been any great rush of activity since:

  3. In a perfect world The Cavedogs would be insisting David Cross return to performing, not the other way around! :)

In this 'perfect world' will there be 'Arrested Development" 'cause I need that.

  5. I came across this band through a power pop blog and bought their CD's via ebay for really good amounts of money. To me it's a little surprise to find them here. They're closer to the likes of the Smithereens or Gin Blossoms than to most featured artists but very well worth listening. More of that!

How about acts like Hurrah!? Maybe there's some BBC stuff? The same goes for Easterhouse, Treehouse Dreams So Real; great music as far as I'm concerned.

    All the best

I do love the power-pop but I sometimes shy away from posting it because so many blogs cover it so well.

P.S. Wow, I'd never heard of Hurrah and I'm quite the Anglophile, especially in that era.
