Next we have a badly constructed health care law that, in effect, promises the same new citizens potentially millions of dollars in lifetime health care coverage, retirement benefits, etc.

As things go, I am not an especially smart man....never have claimed to be and won't. But one thing I was told young and ahve always found to be 100% true is that NO ONE can "pedict history"....history "just happens"...Obamacare COULD BE A GODSEND.....it could be a disaster....not a one of us knows, and to use it as just another excsue for name calling is something that isn't even fit for the 6th grade playground. I voted for Obamba and will again.....if you didn/t/won't, GOd bless, that is sort of how democrcy is SUPPOSED to work....and anyone whe takes Jeffen's personal/politica views (as well as my own which I think are somewhat similar, not sure) is, I am certain, free to not read his blog and share in the music he provides, etc....same goes for my blog. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to read it.

We cannot predict the future but we can lie about it. The "Death Panels' were lies, 'the government take-over of health-care' was a lie. The ACA will cover millions of people who are uninsured and that's a fact.

DeleteAnd the weird thing is the level of hate directed at a post that was just a passing mention of a momentous event and hardly a fire-breathing tirade.
Observe my personal situation: I can retire next year at 51, 30 years of service. At that time I keep my medical, but my wife who will be only 47 at the time cannot stay on my policy after I retire, unless I pay som 800 bucks a month for her.....not such a good deal. If there is something to coever her situation in the Obama plan, you bet your bottom nickle I will take advantage of it....I will have to become more knowledgeable about it, of coure, but hey....I WANT TO retire at 51 (and I DESERVE TO also), and if Obama's health care plan makes it easier for me to to so, works for me. Selfish? You betcha.....because looking out for my wife and home and kid is what I am about, you call that selfish, I call it looking out for #1. Someone has to. Might as well be me.
ReplyDeleteONE MORE brief observation....my Mom and Step Father used to travel Europe extensively, occasionally gettting sick and needing to use the "government Health care" systmes in place in Scotland, etc.....ACCORDKING TO THEM (and ONLY according to them), this would always go off without a hitch, as easy as could be.....I was never there with them si I wouldn't know first hand but it's what i was told and when we are banking information we should at least consider that nugget of information as well, I think.

ReplyDeleteObama ASSURED this was not a tax. He PROMISED no new taxes on those making under $250K. obamacare is unconstitutional under the commerce clause and is allowed as a TAX INCREASE. The largest tax increase on the middle class!
...and that's the beginning of the damage. Choice (and therefore: quality, cost and accountability) will decrease to the same kind of respect you get in a TSA line.
