Holy Hell! Early eighties New York band, Connie & The Linguistics lay somewhere between punk and new wave, between Blondie and The Plasmatics and between bad taste and worse taste.
Deconstructing the elements of this video wields a bounty of awkward joy; Connie's burlesque moves, the punk guy who gets to shout "Crazy!" a lot and do the rap plus almost every one in the video commits pantomime suicide at one point. Truly the punk band of John Waters' dreams.
While staying on the same video set, Connie & co., get to show off their more pop aspirations and celebrate the "Nu Way" by giving some business dude a fuckin' mohawk.
