It's $199.00 on Amazon for this high-spirited but now out-of-print live show taped for the BBC in 1989 is here. Now that we've offered it to you as a little Christmas gift, perhaps it's time to check out the band's rich catalog.

Looking at the Steeltown video I'm reminded of one of the major parts of seeing the band live.
ReplyDeleteThat is nearly everybody in the room bouncing up and down for nearly the whole gig :)
Here in the future I'd be exhausted after 3 songs :(

If there was a blog 'oscar'/'emmy'
you should be the winner!
From day one your postings have been 'The cats meow!',and in my humble opinion you've outblogged everyone else at their own game.
Sincere Thanks! and Merrie Christmas!

ReplyDelete"everybody in the room bouncing up and down for nearly the whole gig" this came as a complete surprise to me - what amazing energy the band gave the crowd!

"Hammersmith Odeon in London on January 23, 1989" according to Allmusic. Glad you dug the posts, I'll keep my eye out for more rare BC, we always return to the great artists!

Thanks for the god words, they are part of why we carry on.
Thanks for the BC posts. Very timely, I was only thinking of Big Country the other day because :-
ReplyDeletea. Due to their Scottish connection, they always seemed to be live on BBC2 TV on New Year’s Eve (from the Edinborugh), as an alternative to the mainstream Scottish fayre on BBC1.
b. The great check lumberjack shirt revival is here in the UK. You can’t move in most High Street menswear’s shops for them.
A) Good on BBC 2
ReplyDeleteB) I saw some fashion-related footage on TV that proved that to be the truth. Weird!
Many thanks for this!!
ReplyDeletePost it again pleaaaase!
