Back in 1997 Cleopatra Records compiled a heavily Anglo-centric history of punk & politics that dealt primarily in the years between 1977 and 1983. While far from perfect it's loaded with great tracks:

Class War The Exploited
Protest And Survive The Varukers
Politicians and Ministers Threats
Fuck The Tories Riot Squad
How Sad The Adicts
Borstal Breakout Sham 69
Rowche Rumble The Fall
Babylons Burning Ruts
I Got Nothing/I Got Shit Iggy And The Stooges
America Au Pairs
Fiasco Chron Gen
Cop Cars The Boys
Peasant In The Big Shitty The Stranglers
Fascist Dictator Cortinas
Red's Strike The Blues Redskins
Do You Believe In The Westworld Theatre Of Hate
Stand Strong Stand Proud Vice Squad
Vengeance New Model Army
In A Rut Ruts
While I'm away from my main computer for a spell (hence the link for Agit-Prop Vol. 3 being right HERE) but I'll still get to read all the COMMENTS, so please give us your take on this series.
Again some nice tracks here I don't have elsewhere. Why I love comps. I don't want a whole album of a lot of old punk bands but comps let me have their stuff anyways.
ReplyDeleteVery happy to reacquire these. Got this comp shortly after it came out, then went missing a few months later. Thanks for posting.
ReplyDeletemore good stuff here, not all obscurities (so i haven't sat and had a listen beyond volume one) and much appreciated.
ReplyDeletethanks commenters - I enjoyed reading your words on my phone as I trudged across the country
