V.A. The Clash Tribute: The Never Ending Story (1991)

Well we've been talking about the The Price (see HERE) and their label Released Emotions Records (see HERE) and Clash-loving in general, so while were in the thick of things, here's that label's tribute to The Clash which includes The Price's folk-punk take on "English Civil War".

The covers are pretty eclectic (read: some stinkers) and my favourites are the ones with some bloody oomph (The Price, Red Letter Day, PKRK etc.)

1    Crass - Intro
2    The Indestructible Beat - Capital Radio
3    Bleach - Complete Control
4    Kage Engineering - Charlie Don't Surf
5    Pop Am Good - London's Burning
6    Attila the Stockbroker - Washington Bullets
7    Terry Edwards - Version City
8    Anhrefn & One Style MDV - Bankrobber
9     Levellers 5 - Hateful
10   The Price - English Civil War
11   Walls Have Ears - Spanish Bombs
12   Mass - London Calling
13   The Moonflowers - Armagideon Time
14   Bad News - Police and Thieves
15   Red Letter Day - Straight to Hell
16   The Blaggers ITA - Guns of Brixton
17   PKRK - Somebody Got Murdered
18   Les Cadavres - Stay Free
19   Serious Drinking - London's Burning (Reprise)

  9. The Clash were a joke, & still are a joke once you stop drinking the liberal Kool-Aid.

I'll be surprised if this gets posted because the moderator can't handle the truth.

The moderator (um...that's me ER) always publishes your comments - they're pure comedy gold. You never read the posts, you never understand the subject, you never respond back - you're just a Republican bot!

  11. Fantastic collection. On first listen(s) stand outs are Kage Engineering, Pop am Good and The Price. What's the point of doing a straight cover of a Clash song. You're not going to improve on the original... Any Part 2 around?

  13. I'm a conservative and love the Clash, the Pistols and much more.
Free-market constitutionalism doesn't mean dislike of good music.
It usually means critical and free thinking about effects of policy over simply short-sighted emotion.
    Keep up the good work.

    1. Always glad to have a thoughtful voice on the other side of the debate.
To me that willingness to think critically about the effects of policy is a a crucial thing, regardless of your political stripe.

  14. The Red Letter Day cover has really grown on me - The Clash covered by The Skids?!. Check this out for what The Right Profile would have sounded like covered by The Stranglers!
