  6. GP has never recorded a bad album !!!
I buy ALL his stuff since I have heard "Howlin' wind" in 1976!

  7. Thank You!

GP was outstanding during this era, especially performing live.

I never understood how/why Elvis Costello seemed to so much more attention, while GP was treated as more of a niche artist.

  9. Mediafire attempted to send me a virus when I clicked the download button for this file. Thanks, Norton!

The attack name is "HTTP Malicious Toolkit Variant Activity 2".

    Why did this happen???

  10. Thanks for what I am sure will be great Graham Parker. (By the way I am still loving Powerpearls.) I really ought to pry open the wallet and contribute to the documentary.

  11. Can't wait to hear this -- been a GP fan since "Stick to Me" way back in the old days -- thanks for this and for promoting a greatly underappreciated artist -- (digging the Dylan covers too!)

  13. Great show. I had a show on 8 Track from the NY Palladium from the same tour. Lots of similar banter from GP. The rumor was definitely at it's peak at this time.

    Thanks

One thing I've learned about MRML readers is that they love GP as much as I do - more to come in the future.

    Karlek/Paolo/Dermot
    You are sllo so welcome

    Midnight Rambler
This is true (though "The Real Macaw" comes pretty close).
Thanks for all the "real rock n' roll" over at Sons of the Dolls!

I Love EC and GP and while I begrudge the latter none of his success the lack of it for the former is ever-frustrating.

Wish I'd seen GP with the Rumour!

    Hmmm. I don't know.
    Anyone else experience this?

Hope you managed to send a little something their way.

Glad people are digging both the Powerpeals and the Dylan covers in their own way.

  16. I downloaded the show, no viruses. I did get a pop up window for Monster.com, maybe that's what Norton saw.

    Great show, excellent blog, thanks!

  17. Great blog.

Been a Parker fan from reading about him in NME even before his first lp was released.

    Thanks for the live shot!

  19. Thanks so much. Never had the chance to see/listen to GP & R on stage, but this music really means something special to me. Back in the late 1970 I was a teen, listening only to classical music. A friend gave me an audio tape of a live recording from GP&R It was somenthing like opening a door on the fascinating world of rock'n'roll The tape was definitely ruined after a thousands times listening to it. But (the soundtrack of) my life was radically changed !

  21. Thanks for posting this. I was actually at this concert, which was part of KISW's "Catch a Rising Star" series (tickets were $1 apiece). Unfortunately, my date had to be home by 11, so we had to leave right after "Mercury Poisoning". Which means that this is my first chance to actually hear the rest of the show.

Opening for GP and The Rumor was Rachel Sweet, with Fingerprintz as her band…
