Well we talked A Lot about the Rezillos earlier (see here) and now now let us give to yo
Both songs were cut on the cheap in 1977 a year before the band re-recorded them with legendary big money producers Bob Clearmountain (for more on The Clearmountain Pause go here) and Tony Bonigiovi (brother of the man known as Jon Bon Jovi!).
Even More Rezillos here!
Your comments prove you DO love The Rezillos - please keep it up so MRML can draw deeper from the well of obscurity.
Speaking of those oh-so-encouraging comments, that is the place wherein you will find the Flying Saucer Attack 7" link.

Oh happy day! Thanks for sticking a grin on my face for the next few days.
ReplyDeleteGreat, Thanks again, appreciated.
ReplyDeleteAny chance of The "Top Of The Pops"/20,00 "Rezillos under the Sea" Single
The comeback download only "No1 Boy" is also a goodie!
i wish i could play bass like these f#ckers! and I wish we could have gotten the production values they have.
ReplyDeleteApart the singers and the guitar player, already known, these guys had a great, and a little bit revolving, rhythm section,it's a real shame this single wasn't included in the reissue cd...
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the Rezillos posts
ReplyDeleteThanks for more Rezillos! All of your hard work and devotion will be rewarded someday. Or not. But still, we like you and isn't that all that matters?
ReplyDeleteMarvellous! Yes we lve you ...
ReplyDeleteI now have a new favourite version of (My Baby Does) Good Sculptures!
ReplyDeleteThe bassline from this 7" mixed with the drums from the album version would annihilate all the pop-punk-pretenders once and for all.
(Which would really be a bad thing, so it is probably good I just get to hear it in my head...)
Thank you, once again, for getting me so excited about a song I first got excited about over 25 years ago!
This is the second best version of Good Sculptures. Hopefully the best one is still coming up - and no I don't mean the album version.
ReplyDeleteStill, on listening to these - brilliant as they are - I can understand why Bongiovi/Clearmountain earn the big bucks nowadays. What they did on 'Can't stand the Rezillos' was sheer genius.
Happy day for me, what with all these Rezillos comments!

Perfect meeting of one of our mission statements here at MRML

Uh-oh!
I don't know which version you mean...
But I do TOTALLY agree with you about Clearmountain - that album sounds fuckin' fantastic.
Fantastic!
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant blog.
I've never heard these 7" versions before or the Peel Sessions so I am over the moon..thank you so much!
Can't wait to see them in Birmingham in a couple of months, really pleased that they are gigging again, they were still superb a couple of years ago when I last saw them in London.

ReplyDeleteAs I mentioned before fans who support bands but are looking for rarities (and who leave comments) are my ideal audience!
How cool - and nice to see nice comments too.
ReplyDeleteMANY THANKS!!!
