We Jam Econo: The Story of The Minutemen (2005)

"I majored in punk rock."
Mike Watt

If you haven't re-watched the Minutemen documentary, We Jam Econo, lately; do it - it's a political bromance, a dada-punk costume drama and tragi-fuckin'-comedy.

  1. I have this 2DVD set and i love it. Watt a lot to tell, so have the others in this documentary. Can't say i am big on MINUTEMEN but i know iconic music when i hear it, heh.

  2. Like Hendrix, Minutemen were virtuosos, wholly original, integrated numerous American music forms, came out the gate fully-formed, and produced much unlistenable music along with much essential music. And didn't last long enough to get complacent, like the Allman Bros (who also had the first 4 characteristics listed above for their first handful of releases).

  3. A great movie about a fascinating band who made some very powerful tunage.

  4. All my friends who are four or five years older then me were huge Minute Men fans. I dropped right into Firehose and really missed the Minute Men completely. Mike Watt and George Hurley's 'Ragin' Full On' is still one of my favorite albums from the late 80's.
