The Rezillos: Cold Wars (1979)

Well we talked A Lot about the Rezillos earlier (see here) and now now let us give to you the 1979 Cold Wars 7" which contains a live version of "Flying Saucer Attack" and a smashing live version of "Twist & Shout" neither of which have never seen re-release. (Y'know who ever compiled that "(Almost) Complete Rezillos CD really needs a sharp history lesson up the arse.)

Even More Rezillos here!

If you love The Rezillos and want MRML to draw deeper from the well of obscurity, then you need only leave an encouraging comment behind.

Speaking of those oh-so-encouraging comments, that is the place wherein you will find the Cold Wars 7" link.

  3. Great posts, jeffen. And you're right, that (Almost) Complete Rezillos CD should have been a double, with the album and singles on the first, and the complete live show (including encore) on the second. Saw them in Brighton a short while back and they still put on a good show, and Fay Fife is sexier now than she was back in '77!!

  6. You never fail to amaze me with your blog.It could be me writing it.
The Rezillos were a top,top band and should of been much bigger than they were. It's a pity Jo Callis went off to join The Human League mark 2.

  9. Excellent! Although I do have all these singles still, I'm downloading anyway. Saves me getting the old turntable out and ripping them myself ...

BTW - There is a second release of 'Can't stand my baby' with an alternative (IMO the best) version of 'Good sculptures' on the b-side instead of 'Wanna be your man'. Hopefully you'll get round to that. Otherwise I may have to get the turntable out after all ...

  15. Great band, I never really took a lot of notice of bass playing in punk/new wave bands but listen to the bass on any Revillos tracks, it's ace.

New podcast live today, no Revillos but there is some X-Ray Spex. Come and have a listen and leave some comments.

Do you have a rip of that version?

Yes, as it happens, I do. I've also ripped the alternative version of 'Good Sculptures' from the second pressing of CSMB, if you're interested.

I don't have a mediafire or rapidshare account, but I can mail them to you if you like.
