'I Have Never Been More Hopeful About America'

'I Have Never Been More Hopeful About America'

I think much of the world concurs with you there, Mr. President.

America, congratulations, you helped the best man win!

It is my hope that the majority of you who voted for Barrack Obama will be magnanimous in victory with your fellow citizens but be willing to back your president to the hilt should he need to be ruthless with the obstructionists in the Republican Party.

  1. Technically the term 'america' refers to the continent which includes Canada and Mexico.
(this is an extremely common type of miss-statement i the usofa. Everyone who wins a national sports event is called "world-champions" for example.)

Congratulations UsOfA, there's still hope for you as a nation although y'all should listen to this:

    1. You may be correct but I find using 'North America' or , if necessary 'The America' keep the confusion down.

Good Chomsky video by the way.

  5. I, on the other hand, have never been more fearful FOR America.

An ignorant electorate were deceived by little more than a marketing scheme. During the last four years, this fiscally irresponsible, anti-capitalist, anti-Caucasian political entity has squandered MORE taxpayers money than all of the previous Presidents combined. There is very little positive to show for this irresponsible spending. The Democrats didn't win as much as the USA lost.

The Democrats are the party of parasites, deadbeats & junkies.

    1. "ignorant electorate"
Speak for yourself, Rev. I did more research on this election than any other, and easily came to the conclusion that Romney/Ryan were the worst possible choice, especially at this time. I've already given the links to articles here before by sources including the NY Times, Washington Post, The Atlantic, the United Auto Workers, Esquire, Rolling Stone, and Bloomberg. I doubt that you've even skimmed them.

      "fiscally irresponsible"
"there is very little positive to show for this irresponsible spending".
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA) – the stimulus bill proposed by President Obama and enacted at the beginning of his term – stopped the economy’s free fall, saved many jobs that would otherwise have been lost, made important investments in the nation’s productive infrastructure, and boosted the spending power of middle class and low-income workers. The consensus of independent economists is that the stimulus increased the size of our economy by 2.3 percent to 3.2 percent, and saved or created 2.4 million to 3.6 million jobs; without it, unemployment would have risen even higher. Despite efforts by the right to paint its $787 billion price tag as extravagant, it was actually quite modest relative to the size of the U.S. economy (roughly $14 trillion) and the depth of the recession (which most economists both inside and outside the administration underestimated at the time). "anti-capitalist"
A lie. The successful bailout of GM and Chrysler proves it.

      "anti-Caucasian"
A lie. Prove it. His mother's white, remember? Duh.

"The Democrats are the party of parasites, deadbeats, & junkies."
Another lie, told by a sore loser. Have a prosperous next four years, Rev.

Hey Rev, did you hear this one from Rush or Hannity? Math is obviously not one of your skills. But the I don't imagine you thought about it all since you obviously believe whatever TeaBagger drivel you're fed.

    3. Evuil rev,
I stand bu your right to express that feeling of fear.
But maybe that's the problem. The Republicans have spent so many years living in fear that can't relax when things look up.
I mean this sentence, "The Democrats are the party of parasites, deadbeats & junkies" is so hateful that it's hard to believe it's real.
Rev, it's time t let go of the hate.

    1. It will but as long as it persuades moderate people that The Republican Party is too unhinged to be allowed back near the levers of power it will serve some purpose.

  7. Maybe it wasn't music that ruined your life but rather mainstream republicrat politics that ruined it. It didn't matter who won Tuesday - you still get Bush Junior's 4th term.

  13. You realize the first thing that Obama did when he woke up yesterday morning was authorize his 345th drone strike?

The wealth inequality doubled under Obama's watch

    http://thinkprogress.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/09/wealthgap288.png

not to mention his dismantling of civil liberties with the espionage act and the executive kill list.

Better to have a plebeian dictator (and a stupid baboon like Romney) than Barack's insidious, ultra sophisticate corporatist police state under guise of liberalism.

Disappointing to find so many blogs in the punk community touting this as a win for anyone.

What happened to none of the above?

    1. George Bush.
That's what happened to none of the above.
We realized after Bush's ruining of America that simple-minded false equivalencies lead only to uncontrolled debt and flag-draped body bags.
We realized that 'none of the above' was just another vote for war, debt and discrimination.
Now you need to realize it too.
