Victory...

Who would have guessed CNN would screw up so badly and that Chief Justice John "Corporations are people" Roberts would come to the aid of The Affordable Care Act!

    3. An ellipse is three dots like so .... It does not consist of three commas and is not used after a question mark.
Also when addressing a civil comment, even one you disagree with, there is absolutely no call for using words like 'asshole', it just shows a deep ignorance and contempt for humanity.

    1. Y'know once I decode the grammar I can usually sorta follow the troll's point - but I got nothing here.

  5. First we have a de facto immigration amnesty, which effectively grants citizenship to millions of non-skilled workers, thus driving down the cost of labor. Next we have a badly constructed health care law that, in effect, promises the same new citizens potentially millions of dollars in lifetime health care coverage, retirement benefits, etc.

This can't help but be a major disaster. Not since Nixon or Johnson have we had such an openly cynical President who seems, finally, to intend to run on the slogan, "One Person, One Vote, One Party, One State."

Welcome to Totalitarianism, kiddies. And no, I'm not trolling...

    1. While I do not believe that simply re-stating right-wing media talking points makes for real communication, I would not say that it necessarily constitutes trolling to do so.

Another brain lost to Fox News. Sad.

  6. Hi Jeffen and 'Anonymous'Trolls

We know that the trolls are xenophobic, provincial and not too bright. They believe all the propoganda that is fed to them in the corporate media.Unbelievably these trolls will actually vote against their own personal interests.Very bizarre!Suckers.

Now I have a BASc(Chem Eng) and an MBA(Finance/Marketing) and I would highly recommend Matt Taibbi's brilliant series of articles in Rolling Stone on Wall Street.Probably far too complicated for trolls.

Oh yeah ... breaking news in the corporate media ... Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes are breaking up.Now that is something that trolls will understand.

    Luv 999!

Also ... Dr. Feelgood 'All Through The City'(with Wilko 1974-1977) just arrived in the post. And boy ... is Wilko evil lookin' as the executioner in 'Game of Thrones'.

    Cheers

    Doug

Glad the 999 is sitting well and ---- Wilko J is in GoT? One more reason I gotta try and watch that show.

  7. As things go, I am not an especially smart man....never have claimed to be and won't. But one thing I was told young and ahve always found to be 100% true is that NO ONE can "pedict history"....history "just happens"...Obamacare COULD BE A GODSEND.....it could be a disaster....not a one of us knows, and to use it as just another excsue for name calling is something that isn't even fit for the 6th grade playground. I voted for Obamba and will again.....if you didn/t/won't, GOd bless, that is sort of how democrcy is SUPPOSED to work....and anyone whe takes Jeffen's personal/politica views (as well as my own which I think are somewhat similar, not sure) is, I am certain, free to not read his blog and share in the music he provides, etc....same goes for my blog. If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to read it.

I will make no prediction on Obama-Care....why? Because I DO NOT KNOW what will be the end result of it. Guess what. Niether do you. As always we will see what course HISTORY takes, and, as I've said so many times before (to deaf ears generally) NO ONE can "predict" history

    1. We cannot predict the future but we can lie about it. The "Death Panels' were lies, 'the government take-over of health-care' was a lie. The ACA will cover millions of people who are uninsured and that's a fact.
So, I agree let's avoid 'the country is doomed' AND 'the country is saved' kinda rhetoric and concentrate on debating the facts, which is anathema to trolls, I suppose.
      Thanks for the words!

    1. Incomprehensible.
And the weird thing is the level of hate directed at a post that was just a passing mention of a momentous event and hardly a fire-breathing tirade.

  9. Observe my personal situation: I can retire next year at 51, 30 years of service. At that time I keep my medical, but my wife who will be only 47 at the time cannot stay on my policy after I retire, unless I pay som 800 bucks a month for her.....not such a good deal. If there is something to coever her situation in the Obama plan, you bet your bottom nickle I will take advantage of it....I will have to become more knowledgeable about it, of coure, but hey....I WANT TO retire at 51 (and I DESERVE TO also), and if Obama's health care plan makes it easier for me to to so, works for me. Selfish? You betcha.....because looking out for my wife and home and kid is what I am about, you call that selfish, I call it looking out for #1. Someone has to. Might as well be me.

  10. ONE MORE brief observation....my Mom and Step Father used to travel Europe extensively, occasionally gettting sick and needing to use the "government Health care" systmes in place in Scotland, etc.....ACCORDKING TO THEM (and ONLY according to them), this would always go off without a hitch, as easy as could be.....I was never there with them si I wouldn't know first hand but it's what i was told and when we are banking information we should at least consider that nugget of information as well, I think.

  11. Damn, you really don't understand obamacare do you?
Obama ASSURED this was not a tax. He PROMISED no new taxes on those making under $250K. obamacare is unconstitutional under the commerce clause and is allowed as a TAX INCREASE. The largest tax increase on the middle class!
...and that's the beginning of the damage. Choice (and therefore: quality, cost and accountability) will decrease to the same kind of respect you get in a TSA line.

    1. Millions of formerly uninsured Americans will now have access to health care.
No amount of Fox News talking points will alter that life-saving fact.
