The Adverts: Live at The Electric Circus, 1977

Here's TV Smith and The Adverts (more HERE) kicking ass back in the Summer of Hate. The sound quality of this audience recording is limited by time and technology but still shows this band just spitting fire! Plus the smashing cover art was clearly created by a big fan of Ms. Advert! I've got lots of Adverts bootlegs in the Blog Ideas folder but I need to hear from YOU before I'll let loose the deluge.

  4. Don't forget to vote Romney and vote the incompetent liar out. Yeah...the attacks in Libya were because of a film. When everybody knows they were pre-planned and Libya warned the US three days ahead. Don't be snowed by the charlatan again. Good thing Jeffen lives in Canada. Been lickin up that kool-aid for quite some time, eh Jeffen.

    1. Great article, this line in particular inspired me:

“Like me, the majority of Americans are Christian, and yet we do not ban blasphemy against our most sacred beliefs," he said. "As President of our country, and Commander-in-Chief of our military, I accept that people are going to call me awful things every day, and I will always defend their right to do so. Americans have fought and died around the globe to protect the right of all people to express their views--even views that we profoundly disagree with.

Americans have a choice to keep a great man in office or to let shape-shifting pirate in. I think I know which they'll choose.

    1. "Explain"?
      Why?
Romney's church compels him to give away no less than 10% of his ill-gotten gains.
      It's no moral feat.

P.S. Really is the best 'dirt' you have? No wonder Obama's sailing in the polls!

    2. Ill-gotten? Typical socialist class warfare mentality. Are Obama's earnings ill-gotten? Isn't he a rich man as well? Hypocrite. Obama is sailing in the polls because they are as crooked as he is. Can't wait for Nov. 6th. He's had his four years and he has failed

    3. So much Fox News pablum, it's hard to pick where to start.
CLASS WARFARE, ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?
Romney dismissed FORTY-SEVEN PERCENT of Americans as dependent victims and you call Obama a class warrior for trying to bring taxes back to the Clinton era?
Or me for being aware that Romney's financial history, and not the financial history of EVERY wealthy person, is so full of shady transactions that he's hiding his tax returns for fear of the damage they would do?
Put down the remote, Fox & Friends are trying to distract you from the class warriors looting the American economy.

  6. Cheers! The Adverts are the most under estimated band's of the '77 UK punk scene. Would love to see more. I will upload some TV gigs on my site (www.auralsculptors.bloodspot.co.uk).

  8. I want Gaye Adverts profound t-shirt, as seen on the back cover of this CD.Part of the charm of this great group is that they always sounded so appallingly awful live.Few of their peers ever sounded so punk rock, except maybe the early pre album Clash,or the majesterial Johnny Moped. Is Howard Pickup (RIP) the most splendidly incompetent punk guitarist or what?
