What Did You Buy This Week? (09/12/12)
The Sack Get Wrecked CD (more HERE), the Kurt Baker Want You Around 7" (more HERE), the Devo Tribute 7" (see below) and all the buttons all came from Jolly Ronnie Records - thanks for great order, Ryan.
The Graham Parker Live at Rockpalast 1978, 1980 (more HERE), which captures GP and the Rumour at two peaks and Bob Dylan's Tempest (more HERE), which is reviving my lagging faith in the man's late-career resurgence. The last two were bought brand new ($15.99 a piece) from The Winnipeg Folk Festival Music Store - thanks, Andy!
So, please tell us what music you've bought recently in the COMMENTS section (and fell free to leave a link, if you're so inclined).

Thanks for bringing the Devo tribute to my attention.
ReplyDeleteA polite request — any possibility of re-upping Devo Hardcore Volumes #1 and #2? I just checked those out-of-print CDs on Amazon and they're running $200 each.
My morning begins with a visit to this blog — thanks much for all the aural candy.
We love the Devo here at MRML, I will investigate those comp's (even when things are out-of-print, I try to be really cautious to make sure I'm not stepping on any artists' toes.

saw it in a Wilco fan forum and couldn't resist the temptation to buy...
"We Are Finally Happy Standing Still" sounded nice.

ReplyDeleteA great batch!
DeleteHow's that new Specials?
I like this new addition ! heres a link to a photo of my weeks $ expenditures... http://www.flickr.com/photos/87128173@N07/7981335958/in/photostream
ReplyDeleteWell, I feel less cool now!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad we both bought Tempest (is that a super-deluxe version?) and and I was really close to buying the new DOA, I like this one better then the last one which wasn't bad, just...lesser).
P.S.
DeleteAlso happy to have someone else joining in the 'what I bought this week' photo game!
How about those running shoes!
DeleteNothing much been added to the collection this week, money's tight and pickings are slim. The Chris Butler CD I ordered a couple of weeks back finally arrived and pretty good it is too. It slightly suffers from the fact that it's Chris playing virtually everything, so it's hard to get a band feel going, but the songs are cool.
ReplyDeleteThe Wikipedia article on CB is pretty entertaining, I just knew he was in The Waitresses before.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I like The Waitresses but I love Tin Huey... So many talented people in one band... If you haven't heard Contents Dislodged During Shipment it's well worth checking out. There was also a very entertaining live show on wfmu a few years back which is also worth an hour of your time if it's still up there.
DeleteDeep Wound's "Almost Complete" has returned to my collection, whereas Siouxsie & The Banshees are making their first appearance with "Juju". Also picked up Soft Machine's "Volume Two", Propagandhi's "Failed States" and Defeated Sanity's "Chapters Of Repugnance".
ReplyDeleteUh, that's way more discs than I planned...
