This Week's Purchases!

The New Model Army Small Town England 2 X CD was ten bucks NEW (and I had $23.00 in trade!) from Into the Music.

The Roman Line Morning Portraits and the Teenage Bottlerocket Freak Out were 16.99 and 17.99 (ouch!) at War on Music.

The Gordon Lightfoot 3 X CD (which covers five full LP's) was $4.00 at an antique store which was awash in metal (but also Johnny Cash and the Ramones) CD's.

As for my $10.00 in vinyl, purchased early this morning not from a 'garage sale' but a 'man cave' sale, I got a number of things from outside my ken but cheap vinyl is fun to buy and ripe fo re-sale.

Lunch was at Five Guys Burgers & Fries, a US import which ought be labelled the Peanut Allergy Death Star* for it's obsession with using peanut oil for everything. That said, the burgers were both busy (eight or nine toppings is the basics) and highly tasty. I prefer to limit my chain restaurant visits but I'd go back for a burger that good.

Did you buy anything this week?
let us know in the COMMENTS Section!

* I suggest a sign on the door that says "If you have any peanut allergies, you've already come too far. Please flee immediately."

  3. Hopefully this doesn't appear twice. Bought Joey Ramone "Ya Know" and the new Jerry Douglas this week. Both good listens so far. That Lightfoot set is a favourite of mine. Can't say the same for 5 Guys...

    1. Like the Joey-Jerry variety (I think Jerry would dig "Waiting For That Railroad").

  5. Bought the new re-issues of TV Smith's Explorers "Last Words..." and his solo "Channel 5" just out in the UK. Interesting to see the NMA in there, as I've been listening to them A LOT in the past month, especially those early releases.

    1. I need to get those two, there's still a lot of gaps in my TV collection.
That NMA album hit me hard back in the eighties - it still sounds great!

  6. Downloads only: Gosh Darn Chickens - Three Bobuck Contraptions (The Residents) and Let's Boot and Rally (Iggy Pop with Bethany Cosentino). Most purchases are downloads now, even when its CDs or vinyl they eventually get ripped to a tera drive.

    1. I've still only paid for a few D/L's but that's now a crucial part in how we help artists survive.

    1. FUCK YES!
I may have to go solo as I haven't found anyone to go with but I'm sure the other fossils of Winnipeg punk will be in attendance.

  9. Picking up Grief's "Turbulent Times" meant I had to leave a Tim Buckley two-fer behind...for now. On the horizon purchase-wise: The Posies "Amazing Disgrace" and The Go-Betweens "16 Lover's Lane".
